mango market

The mango season for this summer is already on and it going to go off soon.
here is how we trade magos on the streets.
normally these kind of wagon or people carry a bag or bog over head to sell the mangos on streets.
and people select the good ones.

(this one is a kind of company outlet. which means the magos are not so good. the damaged ones which they dont use at the markets or the ones which comes direct from farm houses. something like that. so we have to pick the fine ones carefully)

weight them.

and bring home.

so a bag full of small mangos(9 pieces) for 5 Indian rupees(around 10 cent)

not bad.

more tiru streets.

oh my god.
it looks terrible.

street trees.

Ramana super market area.

demolished tiru streets :-(

The last few days the 'National Highways Department' or the local goverment or whatever, started to clean the main streets of Tiru. It was like that they were trying to build new wide highway or to clean the path around Arunachala. But whatever, they do it every year. Cleaning(?!) up the building on the streets, but always after the work, the people start to build it again and again. I think this is going on for the past 5 or 6 years. But this year they are too agressive and they took off all the shops and houses which are not properly registered(which means kinda most of the shelters and the roofs of the shops and houses). So, there is a lot happening on the main streets. Most of the street shops are gone. And many other houses and shops are heavily damaged. So here are some sample pictures. But in real its more worse.
the streets, looks like after an earthquake or so

opposite the t-shop

the t-shop itself. :-(

people moving their stuff.

Near the Auro-usha hotel.
Not only buildings. but also the trees. sad.

Arvind cornor??! ja.

some people started fighting against the rule and even got arrested.

even some houses are gone

number 5

This is the most famous Cinema in my town for all the Hollywood movies.
Parking the bike.

posters around.

waiting till they ring the bell for the tickets.

it wasnt so full like the first few Harry movies. 20 Rs(0.36 cent) per ticket for the first few days.

ticket counter - you can buy the tickets from every hole around the small counter room.

finding a chair in front of the screen (barely 12 meters and looking up) & under some good fan.

and enjoying the movie in my own language. sometimes its fun.

half the movie is gone, we get a short break. we call it intervel or intermission. so coming out to relax for 15 mins.

the small stalls selling few stuff.

chips, fried nuts, cool drinks, ice cream and pop-corn.

or another stall selling, tea, coffee and some home made sweats.

then we get in to watch rest of the movie. it was good. Harry Potter rocks. finally coming out and going home.

:-)
